Mitotane is an adrenocorticolytic agent; aminoglutethimide, metyrapone, ketoconazole, trilostane, etomidate, and cyanoketone inhibit one or more of the enzymes in the steroid biosynthetic pathways; and mifepristone is a competitive antagonist of glucocorticoid binding to its cytosol receptor.
