Regional Challenges in the Prevention of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Drug Resistance. In diverse global regions with significant human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) burden, programmatic, cultural, and provider-, patient-, and virus-related factors may result in HIV drug resistance, with global implications. This article reviews such common and unique challenges in Russia, Latin America and the Caribbean, China, and India, to suggest potential solutions.
