Accidental Bowel Leakage/Fecal Incontinence: Evidence-Based Management. Fecal incontinence is a highly prevalent and debilitating condition that negatively impacts quality of life. The etiology is often multifactorial and treatment can be hindered by lack of understanding of its mechanisms and available treatment options. This article reviews the evidence-based update for the management of fecal incontinence.
