Transmission Electron Microscopy Confirmation of Orientia tsutsugamushi in Human Bile. Scrub typhus, the third most frequently reported infectious disease in South Korea, causes serious public health problems. In 2019, we collected a bile specimen from a patient with scrub typhus through percutaneous transhepatic gallbladder drainage and performed transmission electron microscopy to confirm the ultrastructure of Orientia tsutsugamushi.
