Artificial intelligence: Thinking outside the box. Artificial intelligence (AI) for luminal gastrointestinal endoscopy is rapidly evolving. To date, most applications have focused on colon polyp detection and characterization. However, the potential of AI to revolutionize our current practice in endoscopy is much more broadly positioned. In this review article, the Authors provide new ideas on how AI might help endoscopists in the future to rediscover endoscopy practice.
