Harnessing the full potential of hospital-based data to support surgical quality improvement. Surgical departments commonly rely on third-party quality improvement registries. As electronic health data become increasingly integrated and accessible within an institution, alternatives to these platforms arise. We present the conceptualization and implementation of an in-house quality improvement platform that provides real-time reports, is less onerous on clinicians and is tailored to an institution's priorities of care.
