Hydroxychloroquine-induced hypoglycaemia in non-diabetic renal patient on peritoneal dialysis. Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a commonly used drug for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Renal involvement is common in SLE. We present a 25-year-old woman with lupus nephritis on peritoneal dialysis whose lupus was quite silent for almost three years, and secondary to HCQ she developed severe hypoglycaemic episodes, which were completely resolved after stopping HCQ.
