Central congenital hypothyroidism caused by maternal thyrotoxicosis. Central congenital hypothyroidism (CCH) is a rare and underdiagnosed disease that sometimes is caused by maternal Graves' disease. We report a case of CCH caused by undiagnosed, initially antibody-negative maternal thyrotoxicosis with possible disruption of fetal hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid axis maturation. In CCH, maternal thyroid disease should be considered.
